You said you tried setting the term type on the
HP, but did you make sure it matched the term
type in Reflections?  Your statement doesn't
make that clear.

(Usually Reflection users on an HP3000 will have
their Reflection set to an HP terminal type.  This
would be "set term=HP" on the HP3000 side.)

Subject: Posix and TERM type


Can anyone help me with this issue.  I cannot get the TERM variable set for the type of terminal Reflections uses when I log on to my HP3000.  When I try to run the POSIX vi editor I get the following:

$ vi

Unknown terminal "".

I tried setting the TERM variable as such

TERM=vt100 ;export TERM but it still does not like the terminal type.  I have tried vt102 and others that Reflection will emulate but can not get it right.

Does anyone know the combination?
