I think you make a good point. I am hard pressed to imagine a
circumstance under which the non-existence of a file I am about to
overwrite is an error in that sense of the word. Now, if that file
should always still be there, I might very well want to know that it
disappeared on me, but I would not want to get called or stop production
for that condition (having been called last night at 2AM, 3AM, 3:30AM,
and 6:30AM). And there are ftperr, ftpwarn, and ftpinfo values. So,
here's a chance for MPE to push the envelope. It would be gratifying to
see this adopted in HPUX, and perhaps catch on elsewhere. Who can carry
this ball? Especially since HP will "beef up" the 3000 with "Additional
Internet support such as FTP and JVM" by the "End of 1998"
