I'm usually not one for "me too" posts, but as I appear to have
(inadvertantly) touched off this thread, I'm afraid I have to back the
responses to your ranting, Denys. My thinking was "wow, he's dumping on the
entire platform because he investigated perhaps the worst apple in the
barrel!" [pun semi-intended]

Considering the fact, as you noted, Adobe products ON the MAC platform have
not only their share of loyal followers, but a laundry list of "bugs" they
put up with that can only rival the buglist for Microsoft's user interface.
Did it ever occur to you that "perhaps" Adobe's programmers are just not
that bright to begin with? [whups, might start a few arguments to that
thread -- nah, seems there is a universal love/hate relationship regarding
their products despite the platform ;) ]

Cross-platform conversions are, by their very nature, "hard" to do -- you of
all people should know that, Denys -- The biggest hurdle, of course, is
adapting to the "mindset" of the users of the foreign platform. MPE users
expect certain things to work in a certain way, and NT users expect the same
things to work "differently" -- how many "bug reports" have you received on
Hiback that are simply misconceptions of how things work based on the
platform the user is "used to" working upon?

Or, to bring the example into an even harsher light, your condemnation of
the MAC platform based on your experience with Adobe is akin to a windows
user of Hiback saying, "because *I* can't make this program work the way *I*
expect it to, HP-UX and MPE/iX must suck".
