Especially if it's a 404mb "Washtub" drive. (I think it's a 7937). These
had the nasty habit of running fine for months but shut it and restart
and the head mech would jam in the home (parked) position. The head mech
is cast-iron. When it performed seeks it would shake the drive like an
old washtub on spin cycle and it tended to want to dance across the
floor. Hence the nickname "Washtub".

The home position has a rubber pad to soften the impact of parking the
heads. This pad would deteriorate and get sticky. When the head parked,
it would become glued to the home position.
