Don't have an idea regarding FTP, but if nothing else helps, you might
give smbclient a try (if the disk drive or directory of interest can be
shared by the target PC for use with "map network drive")...
:xeq /usr/local/samba/bin/smbclient &
: "\\yourPC\shareName passwd -U user -c 'cd yourDir; dir'"
Note, however, that the above syntax is from memory (so might need a
few adjustments) and I have not tried if smbclient allows for blanks
in file or directory names for the PC side (but it probably will).
