Interleave and compress were, IIRC, TurboSTORE options.  FOS RESTORE
might not do the trick.  I don't think there are any media issues as the
7980 would do anything it's predecessors would do (well, 800bpi tapes
aside).  There were some streaming block size issues if the tape was
written on a newer technology drive with maxtapebuf (not necessarily
backward compatible) but with a 7980 should not be an issue.
