Folks:
The prize goes to our own JWP of Norbord, who successfully steered me to the
obscure syntax:
!build tempmsg;rec=-72,,f,ascii;disc=100;temp;msg
!listftemp tempmsg,2
!file mpefile=tempmsg,oldtemp;temp;nolock
!echo access po-headers >> *mpefile
!echo choose po-no 'A00100' >> *mpefile
!echo subfile sf1 include po-no,supplier >> *mpefile
!echo go >> *mpefile
!echo exit >> *mpefile
!listftemp tempmsg,2
!file stdin=*mpefile
It seems that QTP needs or like the *mpefile with the ";nolock" setting. In
any case, I got the program to read my file as $Stdin with the following
provisos:
1) :QTP only, i.e. no 'auto=' or anything else on the command line
2) Embed the 'exec program name' as the first record in your $Stdin
3) If doing a "Choose" in the QTP, end the $Stdin command file with a blank
record, " ", otherwise it gets upset.
Thanks folks and JWP.
Now, we have got real problems as follows:
