I may have missed it in the email thread, but it never hurts to
reinforce it:
If you're going to power off/pull cables from the DAT, make sure to DOWN
the drive...otherwise, a reboot will probably be req'd to get MPE to see
it again...
And when you're done and ready to test...don't forget to UP the drive
:-)

Hi Craig and All :)
Hey... went thru this at Denkor (now Willamette Dental once again :)
)

We went thru a couple/3 drives before getting everything smooth
again...
but that was back when they had troubles... I did one time do some "Open
Circuit Surgery" on the box tho' back at OHSU Foundation (check the
archives???) and actually pulled the power only to the tape drive...
worked ...but as I recall I did a power cycle on the box shortly after
that to "clean" up the messes caused by the 'surgery' hehehe

Bear in mind I only tried this because I had a really major mailing
label project running in several jobs at the time and needed to do
something fast and to quote Marc Albert "Drastic situatios require
Drastic Measures" :)

Gary,

Push and hold the eject button for 15 seconds.

One other trick we used to do on 928, grab the plug... :-)

Forgive my stupidity, I can't even find it doing a help.
So would someone give me that information?
Tks
Gary
