If you haven't done so already, check the data item being edited to make
sure it's a numeric type. I've seen QUERY produce some strange results when
a numeric edit mask is applied to an alphanumeric item (type X or U).

Also, I don't believe QUERY supports a leading minus sign. You may have to
settle for a trailing sign.
