I can contrive to get zeroes at the end of the record if the last field is an integer and has a value of zero:

I am not a QTP user nor have been.

But with these comments from John and Tracy and the lack of LISTF, I wonder if the output file is FB (Binary) instead of ASCII.

(placing zeros on unused bytes).
