Evangelist and Witness and other terms coming to us by way of Christianity,
although they had some very specific and colorful meanings in their original
contexts. I am a little reluctant to mix terms, having somewhat different
attitudes toward my preferred platform and my personal faith. And while
Billy Graham enjoys something of a reputation for personal integrity, I'm
not sure the everyone's idea of an evangelist is something I want to invoke.
Also, I don't want HP to borrow someone else's coinage. If it is unique,
they are following in someone else's footsteps, and if it is common, they
are following the herd. Neither appeal to me.

I had a good time at www.m-w.com, using the dictionary and the thesaurus to
look at some of these words. Ironically, propagandist comes from religious
coinage, its etymology is "New Latin, from Congregatio de propaganda fide
Congregation for propagating the faith, organization established by Pope
Gregory XV".

Because of an off-list suggestion, I looked up advocate, and found:
Etymology: Middle English advocat, from Middle French, from Latin advocatus,
from past participle of advocare to summon, from ad- + vocare to call, from
voc-, vox voice -- more at VOICE
Date: 14th century
1 : one that pleads the cause of another; specifically : one that pleads the
cause of another before a tribunal or judicial court
2 : one that defends or maintains a cause or proposal

I like that. We do want the 3000 to have a voice. I also clicked the
thesaurus button, and got EXPONENT, champion, expounder, proponent,
supporter. I think I like advocate better. But this is all just my opinion.
