following entries must be done in SERVICES.NET:

nmbp      137/udp
smbp      139/tcp

in INETDCNF.NET:
nmbp      dgram     udp  wait MGR.SAMBA  /SYS/SAMBA/NMBD nmbd
snmp      stream    tcp  nowait    MGR.SAMBA  /SYS/SAMBA/SNMB smbd

I assume you mixed udp and tcp.

I have a small problem setting up Samba.  I downloaded the latest version,
followed all the instructions, modified the config files (to use inetd) but
hit a problem. Inetd says "smdb/udp unknown configuration" and the same
with nmdp. Any help would be appreciated.
