The short answer is that 'blksize' returns words and 'byteblksize' returns
bytes. I assume from your "strange results" comment that you are
experiencing something that isn't quite so straightforward. I have observed
that the result on a file with variable records will be 4 bytes (2 words)
greater than the value LISTF shows. I assume this reflects the length
field.

are two options available that reference blocksize. one is
called 'blksize' (#15). the other is 'byteblksize' (#31).
anyone know what the difference is between the two? i'm
