NEW YORK, Dec 17 (Reuters) - J.P. Morgan analysts Daniel Kunstler and Kimberly
Eng
Lee on Friday started coverage of Agilent Technologies Inc. , a maker of test
and measurement
equipment and a recent Hewlett-Packard Co. spinoff, with a buy rating and a $60
price target.
-- "In general electronic test gear and in the important communications test
area, Agilent is more
than three times the size of its closest competitors," the analysts said in a
statement. "The
separation of Agilent from Hewlett-Packard permits Agilent to unlock the value
implicit in its
leadership." -- said relatively flat fiscal 2000 earnings per share of $1.13
should give way to a
53 percent expansion of its 20001 earnings per share, to $1.73. -- shares up
1-7/16 to 46-7/8
