Yesterday I met with our HP CE to discuss removing the HPIB card from
our 928/LX system. I need to convert our 7980A tape drive to SCSI
before I can move to MPE 6.5. I have been putting this off for long
enough, and now with the end of support for 6.0 coming up, it is time to
get it done.

Even though we do not use our 7980A for backups anymore, we have quite a
library of old tapes that we need to be able to read if necessary. The
2654B HPIB printer has been replaced with a Linejet 1000.

What I am looking for is an open-ended SCSI card for the 928/LX that the
tape will plug into. I already have all the necessary hardware to
convert the tape to SCSI. I am told that the HP part number is 28655A,
with a possible alternate of 28642A. Our CE seems to think that there
might be a number of these parts laying around in the bone yards of some
shops these days as shops have converted to other types of interfaces.

If anyone has one of these boards available (working of course), please
get in contact with me.

You can contact me via private email (reply here) ,by phone at
949-476-3534 or my office email at
"[log in to unmask]".

Thanks in advance.
