Confession time:
Yes, I am the one who maintained one of the vendor listings through 
the years.  Very few companies ever supplied information themselves, 
rather, I tended to update things when I became aware of the 
changes.  For the past 3 years, I have not been actively involved in 
the vendor community and so I have not kept up. Even before I bowed 
out, the listings were getting pretty long in the tooth.

About two months ago, I broke the link to our website.  This is the 
first mention of complaint so I take it that it was not being used much.

My feeling is that search tools such as google provide much of what 
people need these days.

If someone else really wanted to take it over, I would be happy to 
cooperate but I don't see it as a very good idea.
