Hi Russ
I frequently have to lug an HP3000 around usually a 918lx. I have never
experienced any problems doing this but admit I use Reflections rather than
'Windows Terminal' etc.,
I created a 'Mobile Profile' that is simply a copy of my normal network
setup but with the connection set to COM 1 The baud rate you need to check
(quickest way is to verify you present terminal setup). My only suggestion
would be, I carry a spare set of Drives, just in case I drop it ! and need
to do a quick reinstall :-)
If you have any problems feel free to contact me direct.
Good luck
Gary

Subject: travelling with an hp3000

Gentle listers,

Sometime last year, someone posted a link to their site showing pictures of
their hp3000 (918?) being wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a suitcase
for shipping. There were also pictures of it up and running in their hotel
room.

Does anyone know who did this? I couldn't find it in the archives with any
combination of keywords I used, so I am posting this request.

Then, thinking it might be better to include in this request the goal of my
query: the reason I want to contact this person is that in those pictures,
the person was using their laptop as the console for their 918. We have
three client demos on a new product in the next few weeks and I will be
taking our 918 training box with me on those trips. I would rather not lug
around a 700/92 and would rather use Reflections on a laptop, but do not
know the cabling or setup requirements.

Anybody have good info on this?

Thanks in advance,
Rs~
