I started reading the Unix history page that I referenced earlier (http://www.english.uga.edu/hc/unixhistoryrev.html) and toward the bottom is a "Unix Versions Tree" showing (roughly) how Unix has evolved into some of the different versions we see today. I wonder, however, how HP-UX fits in... Any ideas?

O most knowledgeable listers!
A friend of mine asked me what U-N-I-X stands for, if anything. I'm at a
loss. Does anyone know if U-N-I-X is an acronym or a made-up word or what?
Thanks,
