Steve,

If you are not on the latest patch for FTP, watch out for FTP not exiting on
error (and not setting the VAR's properly). We continue to have this
problem on a regular basis. We are currently working on getting the latest
patch installed. James indicated that the problems have been fixed in the
newest release. Hopefully we will get the patch installed this weekend or
next.

Just wanted to give you a heads-up.

Here is a sample of terminating a FTP with "exitonerror" and also shows
you
what FTP variables are set.

/SYS/WORK: ftp ector
File Transfer Protocol [A0012E08] (C) Hewlett-Packard Co. 2002 [PASSIVE
SUPPORT]

220 HP ARPA FTP Server [A0012D07] (C) Hewlett-Packard Co. 2000 [PASV
SUPPORT]
Connected to ector (15.113.9.93). (FTPINFO 40)
Name(manager): manager/pass.sys/pass230 User logged on
Remote system type is MPE/iX
200 TIMEOUT command ok.
ftp> exitonerror
ExitOnError mode on.  (FTPINFO 33)
ftp> put nofile
NONEXISTENT PERMANENT FILE  (FSERR 52)
221 Server is closing command connection

/SYS/WORK: showvar @ftp@
FTPLASTERR = -13
FTPXFERFILES = 0
FTPREQFILES = 1
FTPREPLACE = TRUE
FTPLASTREPLY = 221 Server is closing command connection
FTPLASTMSG = Data Transfer Request Failed. (FTPERR 13)

Note: Repairs for "exitonerror" and ftp variables set have been made in
recent patches.
Please install the current FTP General Release patches available on the
HP-ITRC for
download.
