If only that were possible, it would be the simplest solution.
However, the Cobol that is generated by Protos is full of calls
to Protos routines, including screen handling routines that make
writing the Protos programs simple, but make the Cobol program useless
without their routines.
And Protos, while it does generate Cobol, is not a Cobol generator.
It is more like a 4GL programming tool.
