HourGlass 2000 for the HP 3000

16 July 1997 Press Release

Allegro Consultants, Inc., would like to announce HourGlass 2000
for the HP 3000, the HP 3000 implementation of MAINWARE, Inc.'s
HourGlass 2000 product.

HourGlass 2000 is the leading date simulation tool, with
extensive support for the testing of batch and on-line
application programs with future or past dates and times.

HourGlass 2000 is primarily used as a testing tool for Year 2000
projects, but is also useful in data center consolidation
projects, testing end-of-period conditions, testing with dates
that match previously extracted data, and re-running reports for
past dates. HourGlass 2000 for MVS was initially released in 1993.

HourGlass 2000 for the HP 3000 supports all HP 3000 languages and
databases, and all current releases of MPE/iX. Installation is
simple, and does not require a reboot.

Features of HourGlass 2000:

1) An altered date/time can be returned to selected
   applications or jobs.

An easy to use utility provides the ability to define rules
that determine which applications (or programs or jobs) should
be given altered dates/times, and what kind of altered
   dates/times should be returned.

e.g., all programs in @.PUB.SALES should be given an
   altered date/time.

e.g., all programs in the current job should be given an
   altered date/time.

2) The altered date/time can be:

   - Absolute Constant Time
     (e.g., always return 2000-01-13 @ 12:12)

   - Constant Offset Time
     (e.g., today plus 10 years)

   - Step Start Time
(progressing form an Absolute Constant Time)

3) Application/Job usage of date/time routines can be logged.

This provides the ability to determine which applications
are using various date/time routines. Logging does not
   require using altered dates/times.
