As the HP3000 moves into the next millenium it will be important to
increase the number of applications available under MPE/iX. Applications
require the availablility of modern computer languages.

There are many questions in the HP3000 community looking for answers on
where the language development environment is heading on the HP3000 and the
investment needed to bring MPE/iX through to the 64bit chip.

To help address some of these issues a panel on HP3000 Languages will be
held at IPROF 98.

The panel will be on Thursday March 19th at 1pm (for 1 hour).

Moderator - Jeanette Nutsford, SIGCOBOL chairman

The panel members will be -

   Randy Roten
   Mike Yawn
   Mark Klein
   Stan Sieler

This panel of experienced compiler developers on the HP3000 will help us
look at the future of computer languages on MPE/iX and what we can expect
from HP.

Interex has a web site for submitting questions for the IPROF panels. We
would like to receive pre submitted questions for this panel especially if
you will be unable to attend the conference.

What are your key issues on Languages for the HP3000?

Regards,

Jeanette Nutsford
