Hi Jim,
Yes, MPE/iX 4.0 is still being supported (AFAIK) but the bell is certainly
tolling for 4.0 & 4.5!
HP extended the support life of 4.x but not by too much longer....Time to do
those upgrades :)

Ahem! We are running MPE/iX 4.0 and are still on HP support (well,
we're paying for it and HP hasn't returned any checks to us, so I
*assume* they still support 4.0). We are planning on going direct
to 5.5, and AFAIK, HP has provided for that upgrade path (at least,
that's what the Communicator says).
