I "think" the LPQ-1500 is the new and improved LPQ-1200. We replaced
some 2566s with an LPQ-1200 about 4 years ago. They take some getting
used to (in our case, using them as a networked printer with a Jet
Direct card) over the old HP-IB 2566s.

It doesn't handle multipart forms very well (we had some 5-part ones
that it did poorly on), and it doesn't print as "dark" as the 2566.
Using OCR-grade ribbons helps (we have some Scan-Tron forms that are
"pre-slugged" with the page numbers and they have to be read by the
scanner).

The 1500 may have improved some of these issues.
