Terminology, what is UTP cable?  The CAT5 twisted pair or the fat cable
with 15~ pins?  If it is the fat cable, were not using any, the
transceivers are connected directly into the AUI port on both the DTC
and HP3k.  If you're referring to the twisted pair, you may be correct.
However, this answer disagrees with an earlier answer I received this
