Here's a question:
 
_WHY_ does the HP sometimes corrupt message files on a powerfail? There
apparently is _no_ filesystem integrity checking on message files. That's
pretty scary if you ask me.
 
I've had this happen to me several times on several different, unrelated
programs that use message files for communication.
 
Purging and rebuilding the message files seems to fix things. And before
anyone asks, -- no, the message files are *empty* so it's not data
misalignment problems. --
 
This on one of our client's MPE 4.0 machines, and on one of our in-house 5.0
machines.
