As promised at the SIGMPE meeting at last week's IPROF, here's my freeware
program that will show what percentage of an active spoolfile has been printed:

        http://www.cccd.edu/ftp/pub/mpe/spin.mover.Z
        or
        ftp://ftp.cccd.edu/pub/mpe/spin.mover.Z

You get Pascal source and an NMPRG binary.

If I remember correctly, it uses AIFs to obtain a list of PINs and then
examines each one looking for spooler processes. For each spooler process,
it then examines the list of open files, and if it finds a spoolfile, it
computes % complete as a function of (100 * recptr) / EOF.

The percentage is of course only an approximation that doesn't reflect host
buffering or device buffering.

SPIN should work equally well on 5.0 or 5.5, MPE serial printers or MPE network
printers.

Enjoy!
