Ron:

There is no way that I would vote for Carly. She is like most every other politician: Make promises, then break them and put a spin on the reason. I miss the good old HP days just like I miss the way this country used to be when we did not elect politicians, we elected statesmen who were concerned about this country instead of their own "welfare" (getting rich)!

Subject: Voting for the ex-HP candidate?

Hello friends,

This morning the former CEO of HP, Carly Fiorina, announced her run for President. If you got a chance to do so, would you vote for her? After all these years, is her handling of the HP 3000 the right thing for HP to have done?

(Note: I got asked that latter question today by Computerworld. You might see one of my sentences in the story.)

Thanks for the replies,

Ron Seybold

People of Earth,

I have been brought back to hp3000-land....but wasn't there blood spilled years ago over the inclusion v. exclusion of that-there OT: ??????

Ron....I was thinking who would step up on this one....and this is why it's OT...for me.

Carly Fiorina...really? All those in favor of her doing to the USA what she did to HP...show of hands?

I'm also ready to throw down....

When does Carly announce EOL for her bid?

Al Karman

Hey Al, I figured if a Computerworld reporter was asking me about Carly, there must be some relationship to things 3000. (i.e. know I'm busted, but I've got a lame excuse.) But thanks for keeping the People of Earth honest. And thanks for the reply. What are you doing (in /IX) these days?

Me either.....I'd hate to think of her doing to the country what she did to HP.

Ron +,

I am extremely fortunate enough to be contracting for a large homesteader in Indiana....with a facility in Alabama......and ran into another lister...we are remote to Alabama and I'm boots on the ground for the remote site.....living down here during the week...only 4 hour drive, and great opportunity!

Al raises a good point.

"Carly Fiorina...really?  All those in favor of her doing to the USA what she did to HP...show of hands?"

If should planned on laying off the TSA and Department of Homeland Security, Department of Energy, Department of Education, moves the northern border patrol (they do a great job, the group of boy scouts I was with was held up for about 30 minutes), to the southern boarder...

Maybe Carly would not be so bad.

Craig mr_lalley ....an old budd who makes good points too....sadly, until we elect an 'amateur' instead of a 'professional' (choose your favorite

noun) hunker down, folks. Elected officials, for many years believe their job is to get re-elected, which it is not. I've been told that their job is to do the peoples business, but we all know that everyone has their price.....to prove that point.....anyone seen interesting people's business make it to debate.....or are we still electing putz's (a word similar in meaning to schmucks) who logged dozens of hours arguing the relative merits of 'Liberty Fries'.

For the uninitiated, a schmuck is a colloquial Yiddish word for a part of the male body......
