It is unfortunate that Gavin continues to publish this incorrect information,
especially as I took the time to privately email him to educate him about
the precise circumstances under which NetBase version 10.0 can modify
a program's XL list.

NetBase 10.0 does not modify program XL lists under 'normal' circumstances;
the only situation in which a program's XL list may be modified is when
NetBase detects that a program has been exec'd (instead of
CREATEPROCESS'ed). And even if a program has had its XL list
modified to include references to NetBase libraries, there's absolutely
nothing stopping you from moving the program to another system that
lacks the NetBase libraries. The loader doesn't treat missing libraries
as an error.

Whilst it may be possible to construct intricate scenarios that might
cause problems with NetBase 10.0's interception mechanism, to the
best of my knowledge these problems remain theoretical. NetBase
10.0 copes very well with typical user and commercial applications.
