I am not sure how compatible the MPE/iX commands are compared to 'real unix
commands'. As '.' means the current direcotry, quoting (with single or double
quotes) probably is out of the question. You could try rm -i, which executes
rm in the 'interactive mode' and thus prompting for each file to be removed.
