Not only that, but I seem to recall reading something that said it cost
to actually produce one of the $1 coins is 9c.  The mint is actually a
revenue source for the government (and I don't mean that because they
produce our coinage).

FYI--> U.S. Currency and stamps are produced by the Bureau of Engraving
and Printing...not the mint.  And they make a whole lot more revenue
for the government.... ;-)
