So many threads, so little time...
..flame suit on - check
helmet on- check
visor down - check
ok several points;

I voted no on this amendment issue for 3 reasons;
1. Didn't like the idea of appointed directors.
2. If there needs to be appointments, didn't like the way the numbers of
elected vs. appointed.
3. Did not like the idea of fixing the flaw in the amendment after the
vote. That strikes me as very wrong.
 To vote on something, then change the wording of what you voted on.

Still think we don't know the candidates well enough to vote, and that's
why the voting apathy.

While posting to hp3000-l isn't a requirement... How many of the 7
candidates do we even have a chance to
know anything about?

And what is this notion of Interex being a "non-profit" company. $1500
seems like a highly profitable organization!
(yeah, I know you're talking about IRS legal status stuff- but that's not
MY point).
I cannot afford to pay $1500 and pay the motel and travel expenses, and
lose a week's worth of billing.
This is why I don't attend IPROF. Not because I don't care, just that I
cannot afford it.

I will only be at HPWORLD on the free expo pass. And there is often some
confusion as to what one
can attend on that pass (don't have my booklet here at the moment). Can I
attend a SIG meeting?
Last year one of the guards wanted to keep me out of one of the HP Planery
(spell?) sessions.

I keep waiting for Wirt to say he is hosting an HP3000 conference, one that
is reasonable in price.

And I do appreciate hearing why Denys voted Yes. Are there others who
voted yes, who just don't want
to buck what appears to be an overwhelming No vote from this list...
