I could find no mention of Posix in the Shareplex/Netbase manual, so I
created a test directory and attempted to add a FILE entry using and HFS
name. Although it accepted the name without complaint, when I listed the
entry, the file name was garbled. This seems to indicate that Shareplex is
not Posix-aware. It does handle jumbo datasets, however. HTH

Subject: Is Shareplex Posix-aware ?

Hi Fellow Listers !

I'd like to know if Shareplex, or any other data redundancy software package
available on the HPe3000 is Posix-aware. My feeling is that it's not, but
things could have changed lately, so I'm ready for more recent input.

The reason I'm asking this is that I need to duplicate a Samba share between
two HPe3000s. Of course, there might me more than Shareplex (hardware ? SAN
?), and I'll be listening to ...er ... reading your suggestions with lots of
attention.

TIA,
