So, I would surmise this means you don't have file close configured. In
that event, unless it happened on the console (type 115) you are probably
out luck. I guess you better use plan B, "I dunno". ;-)

From my understanding. Turning on this log can create some overhead on
busy systems.

That's assuming that Reggie has file closes being logged, which is
unlikely.  It makes for huge log files.

Yes, there is. Consult your system log files specifically looking for
file closes for that specific file (types 105,205,305, 160) around the
time/date you think the file went missing.

I recently discovered a file missing. Is there a way to figure out who
or what purged a file and will there be much overhead?
