Howdy,

For security reasons I can't get too far into this but:

 We did the udc thing to deal with user id's, passwords, etc.
 However it was *very* slow on our old 947.  The company wouldn't
 give us any money (suprise there :-#) but we had to satisfy the
 auditors.  The solution was to write a program (COBOL) to access
 various HP variables and calendar intrinsics; add a 1.2Mb
 Turboimage database.  Took about one day and has kept all auditors
 from our door for four years.

This is not a recommendation, just something to think on.
