I suspect that assessment is made more on the degree of harm that she did to
the quality of company that was HP than on what she did as a
hired-gun/corporate manager, as compared to all other hired-gun/corporate managers.

In that, I blame the board of directors at HP. They're the ones that wanted
someone like Carly, and she did what they wanted. I would not only have asked
for Carly's resignation, I would have demanded theirs as well.
