We had a 957 which wouldn't perform with more than 30 or so users so we
decided to move to a 979KS200 (it's not called 'overkill', it's called
'future-proofing') with 100 user licence. The whole project took around 6
weeks from specification to implementation.

When we rebuilt the account structure on the new machine we had a bit of
work to do since we were changing volume set configs but things like MPEX
helped.

The only problem we encountered was getting the correct part number(s) for
NS3000 and ended up with point-to-point which isn't much use for DSCOPYs
etc. The other fright was the upgrade cost for Omnidex and RoadRunner (we
dropped RoarRunner to keep costs down).

The change over took just over a day with no real issues.

We now run with an average of 60+ users and can still run a couple of
on-line reports. We're now considering dropping our 937 and moving HPFA
onto the 979 until it 'dies' at the end of the year.

Hi all,

Has anyone upgraded their HPe3000 9X7 to a 9X9? If so, HP CSY would love
to hear from you. We're looking for 9X7 to 9X9 customer upgrade
experiences
that can be turned into published success stories. If you think you can
help, please contact me. Thanks!
