Do not walk through the portals with the tapes and do not bring them close to the portals either. Sending them through the X-ray is
fine; when I am talking about proximity, I mean inside a foot or so.

Hello Denys,

Do you happen to know if there is any proximity spillage from the portals? The X-Ray machines are usually within a couple of feet
of the portals. Just curious...

As with anything magnetic, I would make sure the tapes stay away from the portals through which you walk. These metal detectors can
play havoc with stuff. Anyways, it is best to have absolutely nothing on you when you walk through. If the thing dings, they do
not ask you to try again, they body search you, or just about. The X-ray machine should be fine.

Subject: DDS3 tapes and airport scanners

Has anyone had any problems with DDS3 tapes going through the new
airport scanners? I routinely carry several tapes with me (as off-site
backup and load to customer's systems, etc.) and will soon be going
through those scanners.

Any problems? Tips? Tricks?
