Hi all,
Hari from Bangalore has a good start on volinfo() and I will shortly
forward to this group our first pass at the items and values we think it
should return.
I am now working on the specs for devinfo and spoolinfo and I have a
couple of questions.
1) devinfo(): how important are terminal devices? AIFDEVICEGET returns
29 separate bits of info just for terminal devices, see:
http://docs.hp.com/en/36374-90013/ch03s10.html. Many of these items
could/should require further processing to format the return value.
As a summary:
13101 Terminal Type
13102 Line Speed
13103 Parity Enable
13104 Parity Setting
13105 Echo enabled
13106 Echo End of Record and Newline
13108 Unedited Terminal Mode - EOR
13109 Unedited Terminal Mode - Subsystem Break
13111 Block Mode Alert Character
13112 Enable/Disable user block mode
13114 Read Timeout
13116 Read Timer
13117 Line Delete Echo
13118 Data Bits
13121 Block Mode Type
13122 Enable/Disable Typeahead
13123 Bypass Typeahead
13124 Flush Typeahead Data
13125 Enable/Disable Console Mode
13127 Enable/Disable Device XON/XOFF
13128 XOFF Timer
13129 Read Trigger Character
13130 Backspace Character
13131 Line Delete Character
13132 End Of Record Character
13134 Enable/Disable Form Feed Character
13135 Form Feed Character
13136 Backspace Response
13138 Terminal Type File
2) spoolinfo(): spool file info vs. spooler device/process info? All
along I've assumed (dangerous) that the CI spoolinfo function is to
return information about spool files, as provided by AIFSPFGET, see:
http://docs.hp.com/en/36374-90013/ch03s48.html
But, AIFSPPGET provides info about the spooler processes. What type of
information do you want spoolinfo() to return?
Thanks,
Jeff Vance, vCSY
