But since SAP doesn't run on the HPe3000
recommending a hardware change to the
HPe3000 is cause and effect of recommending
a software change also.

No ... but I can predict HP's answer to that next time someone asks
them about that: "We could do it ... in fact we already do that on
Superdome, so we know how ... but we don't think the customer demand
is there."
