I am not trying to reach the box from the outside yet, I am still
trying to run ping from a serial console session to verify that the
IP address is assigned. I believe that I should get a local
response whether the network transciever and cable are attached or
not.
I assume that have misconfigured something so I am now looking
through the NMMGR to see if I have mistyped an entry.
