An alternative is SAFE/3000 from Monterey Software uses AIF:Procedure Exits
to implement its security and access controls. SAFE intercepts the STREAM
command at the system level using HP supported exits - meaning NO changes to
applications or having to apply kludgy binary patches to all the programs on
the system which might call the STREAM command programmatically. See our
web site (www.editcorp.com/Businesses/MontereySoftware
) for more details.
