Mike, I think you should already have MB Foster's "free" ODBC driver,
depending on your version of MPE/iX. See if you have HPREADME.ODBCSE.SYS,
the first few lines tell you how to install the host listener.
I was given the task of populating an Image DB from data supplied in an
Excel spreadsheet. Using MS Access and ODBCLink/SE, I was able to link the
Excel S/S's, link the Image DB datasets, then selectively copy and paste
from the S/S to the Image datasets. Once I figured out how to do it, I
automated the whole thing via macros. Not bad for my first stab at using
Access. Performance is not all that great, but this is a once-per-quarter
type of procedure that doesn't need instantaneous response.
