Shawn,

did you re-create all acounts using the BULDJOB1 generated by BULDACCT ?

Each NEWACCT / NEWGROUP command must be given twice for accounts/groups which
should reside on PrivVols: one for ONVS (account and groups), the second for
HOMEVS (for groups)(see some postings regarding tools in this Newsgroup). For more
details, the HELP NEWACCT ALL and HELP NEWGROUP ALL will give you the right
understanding.
It seems that ;ONVS=PrivVol was missed by creating the accounts.

All internal directory entries per account/group are duplicated: one is on the
SysVol, basically pointing that the group resides on the PrivVol. The directory on
the MasterDisk of the PrivVol contains all groups residing on this volume. If
everything went fine creating this structure, your restore must not contain the
keyword ;VOLSET=PrivVol because everything was created O.K. as you assume.
Nevertheless, this keyword will not harm the Restore using ;CREATE.

Did you already try a REPORT ...;ONVS=PrivVol ? This will show you all
accounts/groups on the PrivVol.

Have all accounts on the PrivVol UV,CV capability ?

Don't be nervous about the FilespaceCount information: this is recorded in the
directory on the Master of the PrivVol and not in the Master of the SysVol. If you
perform your Report-command using ;ONVS=...
you will see the right.

Best regards, Andreas Schmidt, CSC, Germany

Subject: Reload with Private volumes - files missing

We just changed all of our disk drives over the weekend, and the
rocket scientist that did the restore didn't bother to verify the
restore. Now I am missing thousands of files with the following
message. Everything by SYS is on a private volume.
/AICS/QCDEMO/PATTERNC NOT RESTORED: ACCOUNT DOES NOT EXIST ON USER
     VOLUME
                                              SET. (I.E. ACCOUNT ON THE
                                              SYSTEM VOLUMESET LACKS
                                              MIRROR ON USER VS)
     Here is the restore command
     RESTORE *TP;@[log in to unmask]@;SHOW;OLDDATE;CREATE;KEEP;DIRECTORY;PROGRESS=5.
All of the account structure appears to have been properly generated, you can
see how each group has the correct volument set on it, but I can't see anything
on the account that indicates it's part of a volume set. If you do a REPORT of
the whole system you will see accounts that appear to be empty, but if you do a
REPORT of just the account, it has data. This is the first time I have had to
deal with private volumes, does anyone have any ideas?
thanks,
shawn
