Sorry Jan. I'm using acronyms like I'm in the computer business. ;-)

This post is a response to the threads on the Arctic National Wildlife
Refuge (ANWR which has no official web page but here's the first one found
in Google that mentioned area 1002:
http://www.aapg.org/divisions/dpa/anwr.html) and the 75th anniversary of the
rocket launch. Area 1002 is where some believe to be rich in oil and want
to open up as a domestic source of oil for the US. NASA (www.nasa.gov)
stands for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, which is the
arm of the US government that runs all non-military space programs.

Amazing story. I only do not understand the abreviations you use. NASA=North
American Space Agency? ANWR=?!? What does this mean: "The Merrit Island
Wildlife Refuge is roughly the size of area 1002 of the ANWR"?
