The article referenced below gives an idea about the kind of competition HP
can now expect from Dell and why the New HP will have problems doing so.
The following quote fragment, from an interview with a Dell top executive,
reminds me of what the Old HP used to maintain as its core philosophy and
which accounted for its success for decades:

"... important lesson was about people--bet on people rather than strategy."

The article/interview is an interesting read on management philosophy.
