Hello,

I have a text file on my Windows 2000 workstation with the high-order ASCII character 0233 in it (that would be a lower-case 'e' with an uphill accent). I have ftp'ed the file to my HP 3000, and in the process my accented 'e' has become the high-order ASCII character 0213 (a capital 'O' with a curly accent above it). So, if I change this file on the HP 3000, replace the accented 'O' with the accented 'e', then ftp it from the HP 3000 back to my Windows workstation, the file now has ASCII character 0197 ( a capital 'A' with a small circle on top.)

What's going on? Is there a way to fix this, so that I can successfully ftp an ASCII character 0233 up to my HP 3000?

BTW, the ftp command that I'm using is:
ftp srcfile destfile;rec=-144,,f,ascii
Why? Because I need fixed length records...

TIA,
