Thanks Gavin, but color me confused. The problem is that the programs
I'm running and spawning are *seemingly* NM programs.
But when I look at CPU Detail I see :

Switches To CM S            S<15165/sec
Switches To NM S            S<15988/sec

Apparently that should be no more than 300/sec, according to the
help document on CPU Detail.
