OK.  So be it.   What would that mean?

On the other hand it seem to me that the OpenMPE and OpenMPE next
generation/next platform are really different, albeit somewhat related,
discussions with quite different issues.   I am a bit concerned about the
great becoming the enemy of the good.  And without a OpenMPE PA-RISC in
place first I don't see that a OpenMPE next generation has a chance.

I agree with your sentiment.  But please note that the chances of attracting
new users to the second group will be quite an uphill battle.  Something to
think about...
