<< Since the "global warming"
theory depends entirely on short-term evidence, I just wanted to say that I
am visiting my parents this weekend up in Canada. It is May 19th, there is
still snow on the various ski mountains and the temperature outside is 4
 degrees Celsius, that's 44 Fahrenheit, at 3:00PM. >>

In Pittsburgh, PA, a ways south of Canada, we had a heavy frost cover on
the morning of May 19th, and more frost today, May 20th. With lows around
freezing predicted all week, I'm keeping all those plants I bought last week
in the house for a while. It's hard to imagine the local swimming pools all
opening on schedule, May 25th.

Of course, it WAS 74 degrees and sunny for the Pittsburgh Marathon on
May 5th.

If this is "global warming", it certainly is erratic.
